I was given this complimentary UP by Jawbone two months ago. I wear it daily/nightly on my wrist. It fits comfortably and is attractive with my clothing.
The results are thrilling and inspiring! As you can see, I have accomplished 500,000 steps averaging 7,477 steps per day.
With all this movement, my eating habits changed. I have cut out sugar, breads and a few other goodies that gave me a nice little roll around my tummy. I had been squeezing into my size 6’s and rolling my eyes at my size 4’s hanging in my closet. I have lost 8lbs. and am feeling comfy in my clothes and more importantly in my skin.
I have had an addiction to food, exercise, and body image for decades (since I was 13 years old). I am a recovering bulimic. I had used exercise and starvation as a way to cope with the terrible thoughts that would roll around in my head telling me lies. Over the years, I have found tools and support to no longer beat myself up over the ‘should haves.’
The Jawbone offers a way for me to compete with myself (you can compete with other users as well) in a gentle way. I have set realistic goals (although, truth be told, the first week I set goals that were off the charts and had to readjust.) The goals are easy to track and adjust accordingly. I love the healthy little tips it gives me each day as well. Here is one from today: ‘Not Only the Number ~ Health isn’t defined by your ideal weight. There are many signs of success. How are your jeans fitting? How’s your breathing after taking the stairs? How’s your bicep definition? Notice it all. Take action.’
Lastly, my family (hubster and dogs, Eddie and Zena) are moving more, and are happier because Momma has a better outlook on each day!

I love hearing about the Jawbone UP from your perspective of a recovering bulimic. Thank you so much for sharing. Way to go on all those steps and the better outlook on life!
Thank you Robyn …..I feel my purpose in life is to share my experience, strength and hope to be of service to others suffering ;0) Happy day!
Great post Tracy! Thanks for being so transparent and sharing your story to benefit others. Wowwee 500,000 steps! Incredible! Keep up the good work on your recovery!
Thank you Lin! I am amazed how the Jawbone has helped me move and get more rest! I was averaging 6 hours a night and now I am averaging 7 to 8 hours of sleep. I feel rested! xo
