3 Tips to Keep You Moving Forward in 2014

As the second week of 2014 comes and goes, how are your plans for the year coming along?  Are you happy with the space you are in? Maybe already overwhelmed and feeling as if you set too high of goals?  Be gentle with yourself.  As I type this, I am reminding myself to reflect on exactly where I was one year ago: the feelings I had, the fears, goals and the desires for 2013.  This helps to center me in the present and to be filled with gratitude for all the forward movement in the last 12 months. There are three things to consider when moving forward, while being gentle with your soul, and having some fun along the way. 1. Delegate. – what gets you “stuck”? Do you remember being a child and dreaming huge wonderful dreams that moved your soul? Do you remember running so fast that you felt your legs were going to fly right out from underneath you?   I  left my parents home in Upstate NY when I was 19 years old.  I have never lived with them again.  I have visited many times through the 25+ years that I have been away.  We have met in FL to visit my brothers, and my parents have traveled to visit me in the many places I have lived through the years.  We have never taken a family trip until last week. Truth be told, I never loved myself, so how on earth could I really love my family? I had many FEARS before leaving.  My biggest fear was that I would get cranky and mean toward my Mom and Dad.  I have done that often through the years, and I have hated myself every time. I almost missed the Miracle the other day at the Dog Park because I was SO BUSY! Do you ever have a million things (or what seems like a million things) on your plate?  Do you ever feel so busy you do not have time to stop and chit chat?  I do.  I think when I start feeling that way and telling others just how busy I am, it is a way for me to distance myself from others.  When I am chatting about how busy I am, I feel superior to others and eventually inferior.  Not sure if you can relate or not.
